A Regency Celebration for Jane Austen’s 250th Birthday at Invergowrie

A step back in time to celebrate 250 years of Jane Austen

The historic lawns of Invergowrie, Hawthorn were transformed for a Regency-inspired picnic, bringing together Austen fans and history lovers for an afternoon of period dress, Regency dancing, Austen family treasures (including early editions of Pride and Prejudice), handmade cakes, and stories shared by Austen’s fifth great-niece, Caroline Jane Knight.

Co-hosted by the Jane Austen Literacy Foundation and the National Trust of Victoria Foundation, the celebration honoured Austen’s enduring legacy in the most fitting of settings
